I left the Philippine Daily Inquirer two years ago to put up my dream business of introducing exotic Muslim food in Metro Manila. I believe in the power of food to break down walls of bias, misunderstanding and mistrust. Thus, feel free to dig into a bowl full of steamy Malaysian satti, incisive dissection of the issues of the day and a sprinkling of feel-good stories about Christians and Muslims.
An ex-seminarian married to a Muslim and with two mix-religion kids, I believe I am in a position to bring better understanding of the two great cultures and religion – Christianity and Islam. This blog would try to project what makes the two cultures and religion click; celebrate the similarities; and not play up the things that make us different.
Be prepared to open up your heart to support my pet advocacy of flooding Mindanao with books and not with guns. Join me and my ‘’group’’ in the ‘’A-Book-Saya-Group’’ project to bring smile and hope into the face of impoverished and hopeless Christians and Muslims children down South.
We may not attain peace in our lifetime, but we shall have planted the seeds of peace for a better future for Mindanao and the country as a whole.
